hey!

hey everyone! its been a while since i wrote anything on here. just thought id let you know that im still alive..haha. SOOO much has happened since i last posted. Last week we had Rob and Lyn Packer speaking to us...AMAZING couple. Their passion for God just oozes out of them, so inspiring. We had a dance class (like prophetic dance) which was real embaressing for me at first since im not much of a dancer, but when i decided to actually take it seriously i quite enjoyed it and found there was so much freedom in expressing yourself like that to God. We have had some seriously amazing worship times. On monday night our worship turned into full on intercession for the nations. Everyone was dancing like crazy and declaring freedom over New Zealand. ive never been so sweaty in my life ( and my calf muscles are still sore 3 days later!). God is SO good.
Inflame has a blog now that Josh and some of the others have posted on.

Sacrifice

This week has started of really great with Wayne and Libby from the old parachute band. A lot of what they have been talking about is extravagant and costly worship and that has been a real challenge for me. I want to write a little about this from some of the notes that ive taken. So often we can worship God with such an indifferent attitude or we let what we feel/are going through get in the way of what worship is all about which is giving God, the Creator of all what he deserves, which is our unconditional worship. Our first priority in worship is to prepare a feast for God. So this is where the cost factor comes in..would we give something to God that has cost us nothing? Worship is about what comes from the heart.
Some questions...
What value do you place on your worship and how expensive is it to you?
How often do we borrow someone elses worship or offer convenient worship?
How much is your worship costing you right now?
challenging stuff aye..
An example of extravagant worship is Mary in the Bible who poured out the expensive perfume over Jesus. The perfume was her dowry and future yet she chose to worship Jesus about all that. That was her sacrifice. She moved the heart of Jesus with her extravagant worship and we all have the ability to do the same.
Im still thinking through what is costly to me because for me worshipping and singing is easy and in fact i really love it , but it could be in those moments when you least feel like worshipping, when you're tired, or going through trials or a wilderness time when you just choose to say "God even though im not really feeling like worshipping you right now, i choose to and im going to worship you with everything within me". Those can be some of the most powerful times of worship...and it doesn't necessarily have to be during a worship/singing time, because worship is a lifestyle right? it could be something like fasting or giving to a stranger.
In Samuel, after David has gone against God and taken the census and the whole country is afflicted with a plague, David goes to make an offering to God. He wants to buy a field off a man to do this offering and the man says he will give him the field and the materials to make the sacrifice and David says to him (2nd Samuel 24:24) "No i insist on buying it, for i cannot present burnt offerings to the Lord my God that have cost me nothing." wow David understood what extravagant worship was. Costly worship is building something for the future. When we look in the Bible when Solomon was building the temple we see the he built the temple in the same field that David made that sacrifice to God.
How expensive is your worship right now?

Top 3

Top 3 Random Things Ive Learnt

1. If you wash your nice white bras with blue towels, your bras turn a yuck colour.
2. Guys have an amazing ability to stink out a room.
3.If you buy a yabba phone card, dont peel the sticker off thinking that the pin code is underneath when you are actually supposed to scratch it. (yup i did that and missed the first 1 and 1/2 numbers of the pin code so i went through and tried all the numbers it could be which totalled about 20 attempts until i got it)

Top 3 Coolest Moments So Far
1. Rad worship time on monday
2. Getting to spend half an hour of one on one time with Libby Huirua

Wow

Hey everyone.. this week has been AMAZING! Yesterday we had a session on hearing the voice of God, prophesy etc.. so we did these prophesy games where you have like a time limit and you have to write something down on a piece of paper that you think God is saying to you for a person. At first i was real freaked out but it made me realise how easy it is to hear Gods voice. One thing that cracked me up was that we had to take an object from the room that stood out to us and write down for someone (they had their name at top of the paper but we couldn't see who it was) and write what we felt God was saying throught that object. What made me laugh was that someone wrote on my paper the exact same object and explanation that i had written for someone else. God is so cool.
Yesterday afternoon we went to this thermal spring. We had to walk about 45mins through the bush to get to this river that was warm like a spa and people had dammed it up with rocks to create pools to sit in. That was heaps of fun although we all smelt like we had been at ngawha springs!
Yesterday i realised it was friday and i realised i was missing flame and i was a bit sad coz i luv it so much and miss all you guys, but im having so much fun over here. With all the worship sessions its kinda like having flame everyday. xx

Birthday

Today is my birthday and so far its been pretty rad. i woke up this morn to little post it notes attached to the door with cool things on them from a girl called joy. My roomie davy wrote me a cool letter and mum wrote me a letter as well that made me cry. Today we had the most insane worship time where the focus was freedom in worship and not letting anything hold us back from giving God the worship that he deserves..even though we may not feel like it, be scared of what others think etc.. it was pretty amazing! We also learnt about the ministry on the Levites in the Bible and how God is raising up Levites in this nation to worship him. i cant wait to come back and try and spread my excitement and what ive been learning to you guys! the plans for tonight is another worship session i think..so will be cool. luv xx
I have to make this pretty short and sweet coz the power goes off in 20 mins.Over here you realise how we take 24/7 electricity for granted..as well as internet and cell phone reception.
The boat ride over here was about 5 hours and was pretty rough for the last hour and a half so i was not feeling too good. I think i'll stick to dry land for now.
The course is going great. There are ten people doing it and they are all really cool. i have been asked twice if steve is my brother which i think is funny since we don't look anything alike. if i get asked that again im gonna say he was adopted.
Today was out first official day of course as people were still arriving yesterday so we got to chillax all day. it was pretty intense. we heard the testimonies of the leaders and then had a worship time focused on surrendering all our expectations for this course to God and had an awesome time of prophesy ect. So that was rad. Cant wait for more worship times like that! wayne and libby are the guest speakers for next week and i think kim walker is after that. We get to hang out with them for about four-five days...so me and kim are gonna be tight after this! haha..anyways gotta go..thinking of all you guys and miss ya xx

Goodbye Whangarei

On Sunday I am leaving Whangarei to live on Great Barrier Island for three months to go to Inflame School of Prophetic Worship. I have made this blog, which i hope to regularly update, so that people can follow along with how things are going over there :)
I want to say a HUGE thankyou to everyone who has helped me out in any way. I have been blown away by peoples generosity. So thanks heaps.
At the end of December when I first decided that i wanted to go to this worship school i said to God that if he wanted me to go that he will have to provide the $5000 that i needed to get there. It was a pretty big challenge for me to trust God with that as i am the kind of person who likes to have everything organised, but through trusting and relying on him more and more, i have seen His goodness and faithfulness. He is amazing. Now i only have $800 left to pay off so I'm so stoked.
Sooooo goodbye Whangarei...
